It's time for something new ✨

I’m not great at abstract

I need to play around and

mess things up a bit

before I really learn 📚

And that’s what we’ve been doing here, with you, on this email list:

I’ve been mucking around a bit 🎨

In a safe place.

A few years ago now,

when I wanted to start a freelance writing business,

Before I did any training or networking or anything freelance writing related,

I headed over to Coursera

for a free linguistics course.

Why❓

Because I hadn’t been expected to meet a creative deadline in an awfully long time.

And I wanted to muck around.

In a safe place.


I was late on a lot of those linguistics assignments.

But I submitted every one.

The course was enjoyable,

And it helped me bridge a gap between where I was,

And where I needed to be - just like this email list has done.


Today, dear reader,

I celebrate you!! 🎁

For being my safe place to experiment and grow.


One of the reasons I’ve kept the proverbial training wheels on this email list is because

Nailing my niche has been a journey ⛰️

I’ve always just wanted to help people.

To write copy for people and businesses doing good things.

But it’s hard to call out like that

👏 When you speak to everyone you speak to no one 👏


I help my clients get crystal clear about who they’re speaking to

by doing deep dives into their markets 🤿

immersing myself amongst the people they speak to

in order to know best how to speak in ways that resonate with them.

But I haven’t been able to do that for myself,

For my own business,

My own brand.

I’ve done no market research (really)

Not because I’m lazy or incompetent,

But just because I couldn’t narrow down my market!

Since that’s no longer the case, I can finally treat this thing like it is –

a communications tool for my business 🎯

And my business is strategy and copywriting for socially conscious brands and organizations.

Not-for-proftis fighting for equity and social justice.

Certified B Corps, B Corp Status Pending,

and businesses who want to be better

who need help achieving their B Corp status.

  • Mission-based businesses
  • Purpose-driven brands
  • Not-for-profit organizations

The Business of Healing” wasn’t resonating with the right audience.

(I also wasn’t able to keep consistent, because it never felt quite right, for obvious reasons now, in hindsight hint hint)

I dream of a world where there are no more greedy billionaires 💰

and so I intend to help as many good guys accumulate as much wealth as possible.

I know what's what now.

🗣️I speak to business owners, change makers, disruptors

🏃I talk about running a socially conscious business

🔍I offer insights into how that works and how it could be applied to other businesses and situations.

🎊I celebrate my wins and grow in public because authenticity is important to me

I have important things to say and share,

but ultimately,

I am here to find out how my business

can support your business

in affecting positive change in this world.

I’m here to demonstrate to potential partners that

When businesses put people before profits,

they are in fact more profitable than the ones who don’t

I’m here to work only with certain types of businesses

😵Businesses who don’t shy away from important issues

😵Businesses who know that racism is a professional topic of conversation,

😵Sexism is a professional topic of conversation,

😵Businesses who don’t hide from the fact that pervasive systems of oppression that enforce exclusion are professional topics of conversation

I’m here to have sometimes difficult discussions

about how to run better businesses

that are working towards a better world.

A more sustainable and equitable future for all.


So now that things are growing outside the petri dish 🧪

I invite you to decide whether or not you still belong here on this list.

It’s okay if you don’t.


And no matter what you decide to do now, dear reader

I appreciate you. I value you.

I am eternally grateful to you

For joining me on this leg of my whacky journey

And to show you my appreciation,
